I've Moved

Well, I've moved to a new apartment in the real world, so to go along with that, I've moved to a new blog. Not that there was anything wrong with this one, it's just that the new blog has an easier address to remember. It's: www.brysonphotography.blogspot.com. See? Easier to remember. If you like my work here, watch for my new work on the new blog.

Again, I'm At Work, So No Pictures, But There Will Be Some Soon, I Promise!

There's just a few cool things that have happened to me as far as my photography goes. First, I had my first actual family shoot just the other day. I was nervous, but the pictures actually came out just fine and I didn't seem to have any problems coming up with poses for the family. (That was one of my biggest worries about doing it.) I'm glad it turned out so good.

If you're wanting to see some of the pictures I've taken recently and haven't posted here, check out my Facebook page (if you're friends with me, if you're not, feel free to add me.) I'll try to get the link to my Facebook page on here soon. If you can't wait, just do a Facebook search for Bryson Baham. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one with that name on Facebook.

Another cool thing that happened to me with my photography is that I rolled my camera over. The picture numbers on my camera only go up to 9,999 and during one of my last shoots, it rolled back over to 1. I've had the camera for just over a year, so it seemed appropriate that I reach 10,000+ photos on the 1 year mark.

I really will try to get some of my recent shoots posted up here soon. (Yes, I know I say that all the time, but I really am trying. I just don't spend a lot of time on the internet anymore.) Some of the pictures that I'll be posting are from a shoot I did with Teagan & Mikayla (we did 3 different outfits during that shoot). An actual planned shoot with Laura Denhalter (remember how much I wanted to do one with her? It actually happened! I was so stoked!) Also, the family shoot (it was Mikayla's family.)

I've got a few friends who are wanting to do a shoot with me... mainly because I asked them to. But, they should be good shoots, if I can actually make them happen.

For now, I really hope you'll bear with me while I try to keep this blog updated, I know I'm terrible at it.

I'm At Work, So No Pictures On This Post...

But, there will be some posted in the very near future. As soon as I can get some free time at my apartment. No, the pictures aren't anything special, they are just some shots of a few little adventures I've gone on in the past month or so.

First, I've got some snapshots from my most recent trip down the Snake River with my Ward. There won't be as many shots as previous river trip posts for one very sad reason. During this year's trip, a small drop of water somehow snuck into my camera and fogged up the inside of the lens making most of the pictures I took either blurry or super bright or both. But, I do have a few to post. Remember, my river trip pictures aren't going to look nearly as good as my other work for two reasons. One: I'm not using my nice DSLR on the river trip. Instead I'm using my waterproof point and shoot camera. (It's a Pentax W60 in case you're wondering.) Two: I'm taking pictures while I'm riding on a raft down a river, so it's harder to actually frame a good picture.

Second, I've got some pictures from inside Timpanogas Cave as well as some from the hike up. I went there with my family just last week. It was truly amazing inside the cave. I'm not sure how well the pictures turned out, but just looking at them on my camera, some turned out pretty good. It was my first time using my new flash, which was nice to have inside the cave. My only problem with some of the in-the-cave shots is that the awesome colors and textures lose some of their lustre when they are only lit by a flash, but I'll try to find some good ones. If anything, I'll post some of the landscape shots I took of American Fork Canyon on the hike up to the cave.

Now, down to business. I don't know how many people actually read this blog, but if you follow it, you are probably well aware of the fact that I had a hard drive crash in which I lost all of my old photos. While there are ways to recover a hard drive, they are all well beyond what I can afford right now. So, I'm asking for people to be my models as I try to rebuild my lost portfolio. I need individuals as well as couples and maybe even a family or two. (I haven't decided if I want to pursue family photography, but I'm sure I want to get a couple under my belt.) I'm not going to charge you for the session, since you'd be doing it as a favor to me. You'll still get a dvd with the images on it, just like you would if I was charging you. It's a good deal, if I do say so myself.

If you're interested in having your picture taken by me, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

A Tragic Accident

Well, it might be a few days (weeks?) before I can post any new pictures. I finally have internet at my apartment, so that's not the problem. What is the problem? Well, it's tragic. My hard drive crashed recently and I've lost every photo I've ever taken since I first owned a camera. There was about 30 gig of pictures on that hard drive, and now they are all lost. I've called around to a few places to find out if it would be recoverable, and it is, but it's going to cost me quite a large chunk of change, which I don't have right now. (The cheapest hard drive recovery place is $1600.00. The rest are all charging around $2500.00) But, those pictures were my life, and I'm working hard to get the money to recover it. So, in the meantime, bear with me while I take new pictures to post and try to get the old ones back.

By the way, if any of you that read this have any pictures I've ever taken of, or for, you, please let me know. If it's possible, I'd like to get them from you so that, in case I can't ever get that hard drive fixed, I can still have some of my old work back. I'd really appreciate your help with this.

Model: Jenelle Omeara Again

Once again my beautiful friend Jenelle agreed to come on a shoot with me. The outfit was my idea, and she actually had most of the stuff for it! Lucky, eh? She pulled the look off really well, I think. We went to a great park in Salt Lake called the International Peace Gardens. It had little set ups for countries from all around the world. It was really a neat place, I'm definitely going to do some more shoots there.

I love this next one. Not sure why.

I love this one, too.

Snowbird

Just some shots from my family's vacation to Snowbird. All the rain we'd had that year made everything super green and beautiful.

The next shot has the red Tram in it. There are two trams, red and blue. I got a couple of shots of each.

If you can see it, there's a sundog in this shot. It was awesome.

Teagan's Darker Side

You may recognize Teagan from my previous shoot with her and Devin. She was kind enough to let me take some pictures of her at Layton Park. I decided to go with a little bit of a Gothy look. I think it worked out pretty good.

This next one is my favorite. It turned out so perfect.

Coming Soon!

I've been getting tons of complaints that I don't update this blog enough. Which is true. Main reason for this: I don't have internet where I'm living. So, I'm hijacking the internet at my friend's house to show you just a sample of what I've been shooting.
I was only about 15 feet away from this (and one other) moose when I took the pictures.
My parent's recently adopted two new baby kittens! This is one of them, named Rena.
How about an impromptu family portrait session? I had no idea I would be taking these pictures, so I only had about 30 seconds to get ready for it. They turned out alright, I think.
Come see the darker side of Teagan.
Engagement pictures for my good friend who shall remain anonymous until after the wedding.
Family vacation up at Snowbird. All the rain we've had made everything up there super green.
Speaking of impromptu, I was "talked into" going on a campout down at the Salt Flats. I only had about 5 minutes to get ready for it.
Bridals for my good friend. No, I didn't shoot the picture with no head. I just cut it off until after the wedding. You know, in case her fiance sees this blog.

So, there you have it. Just some of the stuff I've been shooting and working on. I'll really try my hardest to get more of each event up really soon.
